Jaipur roads to witness vintage car galore once again !

Jaipur: The 14th Vintage and Classic car rally on February 4 and 5, 2012. Jaipur is now acclaimed the best vintage and classic car rally in India. The purpose of the rally is to preserve the rich auto heritage of Rajasthan in particular and awareness in general. The car rally is organised by Rajputana Automotive Sports car club in association of Tourism Department, Govt. of Rajasthan.

Famous cars for this year :

Cars? we can expect to see this weekend are Jai Singh?s 1951 Jaguar XK 120 and the 1956 Thunderbird?a rare twodoor convertible owned by his father.

Use of Vintage cars:

?

These cars are important for tourism purpose. They are used for taxi, movies, sports, marriages, photoshoot and the list goes on. These cars have participated in historical movies like Oscar wining Gandhi of Sir Richard Attengourbh, Zubeida, Bhool bhulaiya,Veer, Rajmata Sindhi (Under production) and various advertisements.

This year Diya Kumari will do the honours at Clarks Amer on Sunday. Last year, Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot and Tourism Minister, Bina Kak flagged off the rally. The rally displays various cars of olden days like Cadlliace, Bentle, Crysler, Phantum to name a few.
